Blooming Marvellous May (May 2025)

With the toxic aspects of social media being a pain in the backside and slowly creeping into my psyche as a side effect of posting my art practice daily, it occurred to me that the majority of my daily pieces for this year have been centred around technology or involved it in some capacity. I wanted to attempt something a bit different and utilise my daily art as a form of study and learn a topic that I didn’t really have much knowledge on. As a way to combine taking a break from technology with trying new things, I decided to dedicate the next couple of art challenges to studying nature. Having no background in biology, I lacked a lot of specifics when it came to the small aspects of Earth. To make up for that, I looked deeper into flowers for May, and I plan to look deeper into bugs for June. They have always fascinated me since my anatomy studies, and I thought it could be fun to delve into the macabre again, especially with all the horror-related plans I have brewing in my head. For now, enjoy the collection I created for May and hope to see you again next month!
