For the month of February, I participated in the art challenge set by @chloe.stuff.studios but with a little fizzy twist. In the spirit of Febrewary, all my drawings this month were inspired by liquids and liqueurs alike as I drew a drink a day.
Day 1 – Forest
To kick things off, have you ever needed a remedy to keep you grounded and help lift up your soul when things get overwhelming? Well, that is nothing Overgrowth Root Beer can’t fix! A simple taste of natural flavour envelops the senses and allows for a nutritious & tasty beverage. Just make sure you don’t leave it somewhere for too long, little creatures often get confused and think our bottles would make perfect homes.
Day 2 – Star
Some days you feel like inspiration is at rock bottom and you’re not quite sure which way to turn. Luckily, you’ll be able to shoot for the moon after one sip of our Shooting Star Shake! With a taste that is out of this world, this milkshake is your golden ticket treat to help put out that fiery burnout and get you back on track to gaining that spark.
Day 3 – Lucky
Got something coming up that has got you worrying your head? Maybe you just need a little extra luck in your day to help get you through the tough peaks. Why not indulge in a Four-leaf Clover Green Tea, brewed to perfection with an expert blend of special spices. Packed with enough magic to help bring you some luck when you need it most. Even goes perfectly paired on a sunny day with a few chocolate coins, that is if you don’t let them melt in your pocket.
Day 4 – Home
Some days you just wanna curl up at home since it’s your safe place when compared to the horrors going on outside. I’d say the perfect drink to pair with that is a Homemade Hibiscus Iced Tea, a nice tart flavour to help soothe your stress and let all your worries melt away for a moment.
Day 5 – Mushroom
Don’t you hate how energy drinks nowadays are just pumped full of harsh chemicals and you never know what exactly you’re drinking in order to get a buzz? Well, why not keep yourself grounded and try the all-new Fungi Fusion Blast! Packed so full of all-natural ingredients that they practically spring out of the can. Not to mention a soft plush coating of moss exterior to help you keep ahold of your can while you’re bouncing off the walls. Just make sure to keep track of how many you’re drinking, since you’ll never know how many it’ll take for the walls to spin and sprout faces begging for a sip too.
Day 6 – Fairy
A bit out of season but they always go down a sweet treat in the fae community. You can go into any treehouse bar and you’ll always find at least one person drinking an Autumn Spritzer. Nothing can beat the sweet and sour fizz that engulfs the senses and makes your wings flutter ever so fast. Drink too many though and you may be bumping into too many trees, be sure to drink responsibly since a little can go a long way.
Day 7 – Sunshine
Not for the faint of heart, this luxurious sauce is what every heat seeker is looking for when it comes to extra spicy flavour. Introducing Sunshine Syrup, a thick bubbling condiment that is hot to the touch! So much so that you have to use a special set of tongs to pick up the bottle itself as the heat emanating from it can lead to some gnarly burns. It is the closest you can get to bottling up our own sun, taking the Schoville meter to new limits to the point where it is smashed on the ground and practically ashes. Stay safe and enjoy the burn, if you dare.
Day 8 – Moon
New from our classic range, we bring you Cresent Cola! A special soda made for the original moon landing in 1969, encased in a limited edition glass crescent moon shaped perfectly to fit in the hand. However, due to recent budget cuts, we are unable to release a new formula so instead we are rereleasing some of the old stock we’ve had in storage! Just don’t mind the little clumps of strange substance within the drink, just think of it as genuine moon rock that will shoot you into the stars!
Day 9 – Sweet
As a welcome treat at the Hollyflint bar, their signature cocktail is known as the Sugar Rush Martini. Why settle for a sharp cocktail with a few rancid olives when you can have a bubbly punch of sweet liqueur that is jam-packed with Skittles instead! Even the glass is made from sugar so you’ll have something to nibble on while you get hammered. Just don’t go biting anywhere on the cup and make a mess of it, that’s just a perfect waste of a good treat.
Day 10 – Pink
Nothing helps beat the Mondays more than something fruity and fizzy. So instead of a boring glass of green juice, why not treat yourself to a Pink Punch! Packed so full with natural fruity flavour, you’ll be kicking off the week in all the right ways. I love to chuck a couple of frozen raspberries in there with the ice cubes for a bit of added zest but honestly, you can style this up however you like. Get creative and have a good week!
Day 11 – Clutter
The thing that irritates me most about coffee is how simple and complex it can be. You can go from a simple cup all the way up to brewing it to an exact intricacy that supposedly “elevates the flavour”. The problem with all that flavour elevation is that to achieve it, you need a cluttered cupboard full of gadgets and gizmos which means making a morning cup of coffee turns into setting up a game of Mouse Trap.
Why not add to the cluttered cupboard with this nifty drinking glass specifically made for strengthening the taste of coffee! Simply pour your preferred drink in and wait an hour while all the tannins travel up the tube, curving through the coffee rather than shooting straight up in a way that helps stir the blend and produce a bolder taste.
Day 12 – Clown
Wellness shots and little bottles of juice are always a great way to kickstart your day if you’ve got some serious stuff ahead of you to sort out. However, if you’ve got a boring day and want to spice it up first thing in the morning, I would highly recommend a boost shot of Clown Juice to help boot you into a silly, goofy mood. Nothing better to put a smile on that face than a sweet, squeaky taste that ricochets up and down your body. Don’t delay and grab one today so you can get on with your honking business like a champ!
Day 13 – Bug
Feeling a little woozy and not quite sure how to settle yourself? Why not help yourself to a little Soothing Fluid to help ease those butterflies in your stomach. Perfectly bundled in a little bottle so one shot can make all the difference.
Day 14 – Love
Traditional love potions aren’t as magical as they used to be, especially when they are put in the wrong hands and used in nefarious ways. Be sure to stay safe this Valentine’s Day by keeping a vial of Cupid’s Fang close to hand, a highly effective antidote that doubles as both a quick fix and a weapon if you’re stuck in a terrible situation. Just be sure not to prick yourself with this arrow, and keep on the lookout for more than true love.
Day 15 – Fluffy
Ever feel like drinks just aren’t foamy enough? Well, why not give our signature Cloud 9 Cocktail a try! So much fizz that there’ll be non-stop fluff for as long as you drink it. Well, I say it’s a cocktail, there really isn’t anything else in it besides milk that has been frothed to oblivion, so much so that it cannot be contained in whatever glass we put it in.
Day 16 – Tulip
Need something floral to spice up your drink, or maybe you just want something subtle that’ll add some colour to a boring clear cocktail? Well, why not add some Tulip Tequila, a gentle soft taste that will help elevate your drink and allow it to blossom into something bold and new. Trust me, once you’ve tasted this you will not be able to keep your lips off the glass.
Day 17 – Bookshop
Do you often find yourself busy and want something to keep you entertained? Are audiobooks too “old school” for you and you’re hoping to keep things fresh? Then why not give this little fella a try, The Bookworm is a sentient being that will live in your skull and allow you to read thousands of classic books all hands-free! Simply take the bottle to your eye and this little rascal will climb inside to nestle into their new home. It’s like a bookshop in a bottle, a little library ready to serve you new information whenever you need it. Although I’d watch out for those late fees since I don’t think they take too kindly to them.
Day 18 – Cafe
You don’t want to be mucking about when it comes to getting a drink at your local cafe. Skip the gimmicks and just go for a Classic Cappuccino, that way you’re left satisfied and helping to support local businesses.
Day 19 – Frog
On days like this when you’re feeling sluggish and would rather trudge through the sludge than get back some energy, why not take some glugs from our famous Grumpy Frog Stout. With a heavily earthy flavour, it is the perfect beverage to cap off a long hard day that will also leave you with regret in the morning. Plus look at that face, who could deny a night of drinking with that by your side.
Day 20 – Spring
Nothing like Friday knocking at the door to make it feel like time is slowing down. It always feels like Thursdays are the slowest days of the week in my opinion, so to help put a little pep in my step to make the day go a little faster, I take a Spring Shot with my morning beverage so that it can jumpstart my system as quickly as possible.
Day 21 – Raccoon
Now that the week is over, it’s time to let loose and go nuts. A great way to do that is to treat yourself to a Trashcan! A medley of various spirits and mixers dumped and mixed into a miniature garbage pail for your own amusement. Probably not the best way to get drunk but it is undoubtedly the most efficient. Just make sure to drink responsibly and that no little critters mistake your booze for an all-you-can-eat buffet. I mean you are drinking out of something that looks like their favourite lunch spot after all, the adorable little trash panda can’t tell the difference.
Day 22 – Wizard
Most wizards have treasured trinkets to help the quality of their lives, ranging from wand upgrades to finer sets of potionware. Personally, I wouldn’t want to go anywhere without my Bottomless Goblet, the thing never seems to run out no matter how much I drink. If only I knew what was being poured in or where it came from, that’s still a mystery to me.
Day 23 – Green
When starting up a garden, it’s always best to think towards the future and what you have the potential to grow. Well, why not step into the future and pick up some Glassware Seeds when you’re next looking for crops. These little suckers can grow no matter the season and come in all shapes and sizes to best suit your preferred drinking needs. For example, I have this lovely wine glass patch right next to my vineyard so when grape season hits I have the perfect glass to try the result with.
Day 24 – Trinket
Are you the type of person to stand at a fridge for what seems like an eternity, just stunned for choice and having no idea what drink you are in the mood for? Then why not pick up a Taster Trinket! Each charm contains a few sips of the drink it is made to resemble and if you like it, you continue to wear it on the bracelet so you know what definite choices you know are good! If you don’t like the sips then you can always put the trinket into a box or a shame shelf so you can never forget which drinks you know to steer clear of.
Day 25 – Game
Everyone has their own favourite drinking game, most of them are harmless and some are quite challenging. However, there is one game above all that is notorious for how cruel it can become and that is King’s Cup. A simple card game where you draw a card and whatever it says corresponds to a rule that you must follow. Pretty harmless so far but what you must know is that every round little bits are added to the King’s Cup and whoever draws the final king in the deck must devour whatever resides within the King’s Cup. Most of the time it’s just a concoction of beverages that is a coin flip in regards to taste, but if you play this game with anybody chaotic the chances of chunks being in that cup rise significantly. Stay safe out there next game night.
Day 26 – Potion
In case of emergencies, it’s always good to have something up your sleeve to get out of a sticky situation. Personally, I keep a vial of Swansong Serum to help sharpen my senses but I never take too much. That’s how you end up with wings and it takes a lot to get rid of those once they grow in. Thankfully they don’t grow back, although I do cough up a couple of feathers now and then.
Day 27 – Castle
For those who like seeking risks, love a good gamble or are just looking for something to spice up their night well look no further. The perfect thing for you is what lurks within The Risky Rook. Each shot contains a mystery fluid that you won’t know until you swig. Maybe it’s rum, it could be gin, it might even be puddle water! Who knows but the thrill is in tearing one of these bad boys open and living with the consequences of your actions. You never know what what will be in there, one time I got rice pudding and that messed up my entire night. Stay safe out there.
Day 28 – Rest
Another month of daily drawings down and damn, what a month it has been. All I wanna do is chug this whole bottle of Sleepytime Solution and nap for an entire month but honestly, I can’t wait to see what kind of creations come next. Hope you all come for the ride!
