Day 1 – Pattern
In an attempt to try and post more on social media, I am going to try and incorporate more drawing challenges into my roster besides Inktober. To kick this new pattern off, I’m gonna attempt World Watercolour Month and try to add some colour to my page through a combination of painting and ink. Let’s see how this goes.

Day 2 – Rush
I know things can get a bit hectic and you can often forget things when you’re in a rush, so use this post as a reminder that you’ve definitely forgotten something today. You don’t know what it is and that’ll haunt you until you remember. Good luck.

Day 3 – Turn
Usually on International Drop a Rock Day, people paint rocks to spread joy and give something back to help lift up people’s spirits. However, for some unknown reason, a chump decided this was the best way to spend the day. Good job buddy.

Day 4 – Signal
Now that these summer days are getting hotter and hotter with every year, it may be tricky to know when is best to go out and enjoy the day or stay in to try and survive the heat. Word of advice, if it is hot enough to fry an egg on the pavement, that would be a good signal to not go for a long hike with the family.

Day 5 – Patch
Most workaholics find that the most value they get from work is the gratitude they receive from their boss. Generally, this ranges from a pat on the back to a huge bonus but the best way to show some gratitude is a lovely badge. Nothing makes you smile more at the end of an 80-hour work week with overtime than a tacky badge.

Day 6 – Rusty
Always remember that when it comes to competitively eating cherries by that pound, you’ve gotta have your trusty bucket by your side to take care of all those annoying pits that stand in your way of victory. Just make sure to also take care of your bucket.

Day 7 – Study
Now that summer is upon us, a lot of people tend to use the time to relax from studying. However, it’s always good to pick up something new and try and teach yourself a new skill. Whether if it’s learning a language, trying a new art medium or even picking up an instrument and trying your best. You’ve got this!

Day 8 – Feather
For some people, it can be quite relaxing to just sit back and escape into another world through video games. However, for this little chick, all that is met is rage and frustration whilst being stuck on the same level for hours on end. You’ll get there one day, buddy!

Day 9 – Trunk
Meet Ello! They’re enjoying their special day to the fullest, and even more so now that they’ve unwrapped their favourite animal of all time. You just can’t get any better than a Cow!

Day 10 – Buried
As the heat is on the rise and more of you are out enjoying the sun, always be careful not to leave anything behind on your trips to the beach. Whether it’s litter that you’re too lazy to pick up or even beloved toys you’ve buried in the sand and forgotten about in the rush of the moment. Don’t let the sea sweep them away.

Day 11 – Huddle
Every day, the world just keeps getting bigger and bigger and sometimes you feel like you’re getting lost in the waves of people. Just remember you are unique and will always stand out no matter who you are. Keep your head up, sailor.

Day 12 – Scratch
Meet Chevy! He’s a bit on edge at the moment after seeing what happens to cars that end up in the junkyard. That’s why you should always take care of your classic cars, make sure they don’t get scratched up and end up in a happy home rather than left for the scrap heap. Think better.

Day 13 – Arch
Okay, now this is just getting out of hand. I mean one confusing road sign was enough but once I find the rebel who thought this nonsense was a funny joke is gonna get another thing coming to them. I don’t even know which way to go anymore.

Day 14 – Spiral
I know sometimes that life can hit you like a freight train and you feel like you’re just spinning out of control. Don’t let the bad things keep you down, just take a breath and notice the beauty in the random to help ground yourself in the chaos. Take things one step at a time, you’ve got this.

Day 15 – Vitamin
Now I dunno about you, but on a day like today when I just feel off you can never go wrong with something sweet. Just a shame vitamins aren’t gummy like this, otherwise, I feel like people would be popping them every day.

Day 16 – Fiber
An important lesson in Botany: Always label your plants even if you know what is growing there because you never know who might come around to have a nibble. Just cause it looks like spinach doesn’t mean it is. Stay safe out there.

Day 17 – Plant
You know how people say fortune comes to those who work hard and wait? Well screw that noise, I found a bunch of mouldy pennies in a bucket and I’m growing myself a money tree! I’m gonna be rich!!

Day 18 – Record
As the world becomes more and more manic and the sound of hustle and bustle fills your mind, remember to take a step back and just listen to the world for a change. Who cares if Brian wanted extra pickles in his sandwich, don’t let him ruin your picnic.

Day 19 – Widen
As society develops, a lot of things become obsolete and are left to decay and be vandalised over time. Why not widen our perspective and let these structures be taken over by nature and find a way to give back to aspects of life that we take for granted. Plus you can’t go wrong with a bit of free honey unless you’re one of the doofs who will stick their whole head into this like Winnie the Pooh.

Day 20 – Striped
With summer in full swing and armies of ice cream trucks roaming the streets in search of coins, beware of the scammers who try to lure you in with sweet treats. Thankfully their choice of cars and colour schemes are extremely offputting so they still have a long way to go before successfully attracting someone to their “totally legit” business.

Day 21 – Filter
Have you ever felt disappointed and even more hungry for your usual chicken salad? Need something to help fill you up and want to treat yourself? Then try out the new Cal-o-Matic 5000 to get rid of all that green and turn those tiny flakes of meat into giant chunks of crispy golden goodness! Buy now and secure a lifetime supply of ranch dressing.

Day 22 – Pull
Meet Terry! They’ve recently begun learning how to play the recorder and think of themselves as a prodigy, immediately believing his music has a magical pull to have animals follow him. However, the rats couldn’t care less about his mediocre cover of Wonderwall. They would much rather a nibble of that grubby cheese that he keeps in his back pocket. Why does he keep cheese in his back pocket? If only we could know.

Day 23 – Tidal
Meet Granny June! She just wanted a relaxing day at the beach while people-watching all the passers-by on the street. She brought her husband along thinking nothing could go wrong, he’ll probably just throw back a pint and fall asleep in the sand. Well, it turns out that after the third pint, Grandpa Rolf wanted to try something a little more extreme.

Day 24 – Effervescent
You know what, life is too short for long words. It’s the middle of the week, so you should treat yourself for doing your best! Take a load off, kick back and relax. Maybe chuck on a film you’ve been putting off watching or try a new cocktail cause why not!! I recommend a nice Tequila Sunrise to get a bit more bubble into your boogie, that and it’s fizzy which helps with today’s prompt. Cheers! 🍹

Day 25 – Luminous
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of celebrating oneself. Never been a big fan of birthdays but you can never be sad when dessert is on the table. Especially if it is a delicious hot fudge sundae with sparklers to match that inner pyromaniac that is inside all of us. Not my birthday today but I would happily stare at some sparklers right now if given the chance. They’re too pretty to pass up.

Day 26 – Global
I say that one of the things that the world can agree on as a whole is animal pictures. No matter how you feel about them, you can’t help but smile and laugh at a goofy animal situation. Take Lucy here as an example, an excitable pup who discovered mud for the very first time! If you still don’t get how much she adores it, that’s a Samoyed under there. Let’s hope her owner doesn’t have all white furniture.

Day 27 – Obstacle
Whether it is tasks being put off by procrastination or an uneasy conversation that you know is around the corner, obstacles in our lives can be tricky if we think about them too much. When it comes to my own obstacles, I just tackle them by saying at least it’s not a mimic. I am so glad these things don’t actually exist otherwise my paranoia would be through the roof and I’d have to live in a padded room cradling myself in a straight jacket. Straight jackets can’t be mimics right…

Day 28 – Sweet
It’s amazing how far inventions can go when we look back on the history of things. Take chocolate for example, a sweet treat that has grown to be many people’s favourite thing above all else. However, if it weren’t for obsessed chocolatiers around the world who strive for innovation we’d still just have boring planks of plain bitter chocolate. Not to mention the whole reason why we got milk chocolate in the first place was because people were questioning why we were feeding babies milky flour in the 1800’s. Definitely glad to be born in this era.

Day 29 – Serenity
With all these days of constant beaming sunlight and crowds of people enjoying the peak of summer, it certainly makes me miss the days of standing alone in the rain. Personally, I say the best way to deal with a day where you’re trapped in your head and don’t know where to turn is to just go out in the rain. Take your umbrella and coat and just stand in a storm, let the rain and cool air just drown out the voices and finally feel at peace while you enjoy the silence and plan your next move. It may feel like a rough patch but you can get through it. I believe in you.

Day 30 – Deck
What I never got about Vegas weddings is that it’s just one occasion. Surely if you want Vegas to be your destination then you should make the most out of everything that you can. Why not take a chance on the High Risk, High Reward cheesecake dessert that comes complimentary with every proposal. A sweet treat for any couple who loves to gamble.

Day 31 – Shell
Meet Gubbles! Rather than other eldritch entities that sleep in the deep, dark depths of our oceans, they are kept awake by the neverending desire to dance. If you spot this monstrosity on the dancefloor, run. If you’re caught in their clutches, you’ll be jived and grooved into an early grave and catch an early nap with the fishes. The last thing you’ll hear is the popping of bubbles and the clacking of their castanets.

Well that was quite the month, it has been surreal starting to make reels and relearning how to use colour at the exact same time but I’m having a blast so far. Thank you all for your support and stay tuned for future art challenges as my goal is to see how far I can go. There are definitely some odd concepts being cooked up so who knows what’s coming next.
